Do you think that Orienteering is fun? I do!


On Thursday the 30th of March, Room 7 and I had our third session of Orienteering. It was so cool because we had to work on our own and we had to work out a map, it was kind of hard but I managed to do it by myself. Our coaches Irene and Leon helped us out a lot, making sure that we were heading in the right direction. I was a bit tired but I had a lot of fun.

Learning intention: We are learning to make a verbal recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I can record our third orienteering lesson.

Isn't Katie Glynn inspiring?


On Tuesday 28th of March, Katie Glynn came to our school. She told us to be committed in what we want to succeed in. She told us about herself. She also told us to dream big and that we have to work hard and never give up on our dreams. It was really cool because I have never met a professional hockey player before.

Learning Intention: We are learning to write a verbal recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I record a brief recount of a visit from an Olympic ambassador.

Did you know that most of students in Room 7 have 4 stoves?



Analysis:

  • Most of the students in Room 7 have 4 stoves.
  • 9 students have 2 cars.  
  • Most students only have one microwave.


Learning Intention: We are learning to follow the steps of a statistical investigation.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this categorise data that we want to collect, make a survey, collect the data, graph the data and write statements about the data.

Did you know that we can make cushions out of Raupo?




Learning Intention: We are learning to develop our understanding of the topic.

It was really fun going to my cousin's house!

On the weekends my nana asked me if I wanted to go with her to my cousins house so we can look after my cousins while my aunties go to poly-fest  with my other cousins.
We didn’t have a car so we had to walk but it was okay because their house was really close to ours.


When we got there my cousin Patrick attacked me and I fell down, but I was okay. Then my other cousin Launoa and I watched a movie called Stomp the yard because we were bored. Stomp the yard was a movie about dancers competing, one of the teams were posing as wolves and the other posing as snakes.
While watching the movies we also drew some crowns and she drew the best crowns.
Later on the day, Launoa and I, made ourselves some Milo and cereal. Before long my mum came to pick me up, but I did not want to go home so my mum Launoa, Sione, Patrick and I went to McDonald’s. We each got a chicken mccheese, and I was the first  one to eat mine.


After a little while, my uncle came, dropped off my other cousin Soane. After that my aunties and cousins came back and we all had to go home.
Lastly my aunt dropped us off to my nana’s house so I could have a shower and sleep there for the night because we had church the next day.


My favourite part of the day was when we watched Stomp the yard because the movie was cool.


Learning intention: We are learning to follow the structure of a recount.
Success Criteria: I know I can do this when I write the introduction, followed by the events, and a conclusion about going to my cousin's house.

All the perfumes smelled so nice!

On Saturday my mum, nana, cousins Chloe and Sia and I went to a perfume sale at my mums work.
When we arrived, only three of us were allowed to go outside to wait in the line, so Sia and I sat in the van. I felt so tired so I went to the back of the car and slept there. Soon they woke me up to go and stand in the line. When I was in the line I was playing on my mums phone and I played a game called piano tiles, when you play piano tiles, you're not a allowed to touch the white tiles, you can press the black tiles and if you miss one of the black tiles you lose the game.


I bought the Nicki Minaj perfume and it smells nice. My cousin bought the Britney Spears perfume. After that, we went home and we were hungry so we bought some chips, bacon and eggs, and drinks (Sprite and passion fruit stars drink).
After I had some food, I switched on the television and started watching The Lodge. I fell asleep while I was watching it. By the time I woke up it was three o’clock in the morning.
After I woke cousin let me go on her tablet and I played piano tiles again.
After a little while my mum came to pick me up.

My favourite part was when I played piano tiles on my cousin's tablet, because it was really fun and I got to beat her high score.

It was so fun at the pools!



On the weekend my aunt took my cousins David, Dora and I to the Panmure pools.
First we went to buy some food , we bought chips and drinks. Then we went to the YMCA to have some fun in the water.  First I went to the deep pools I used a pool noodle  to help me afloat.  Then I went to the medium pools. I was using my goggles so I could see better under the water.

Next we saw some YMCA children racing, so
me and David had a race as well , David won. Then we went to the outside pools because it was hot and it really cool us down.

Finally we went to the McDonald and I ate a double cheese burger that was so yummy that I finished it before my aunt did.
Soon after our meal, we went home. When we arrived home, we played rugby and touch, we played five rounds of rugby and five rounds of touch.
Lastly I watched some programmes on the television, I watched Shortland Street and the movie Moana. Then I  went for a shower , and went to sleep because I was so tired.

My favourite Part of the day  was playing rugby and touch because it’s good exercise , it was really fun and I got to be rough with my cousin.
